Here are a few pictures from all of the scans we've had with this baby. Some of them are very unique. I 'd say the 9 week one is not really identifiable as a baby. But I love them all!

Merry Christmas!!!

I haven’t had much to say lately – I don’t think anyone is interested in me just gushing about the little guy all the time. He’s army-crawling now. Yesterday I picked him up from daycare and he crawled to me. He started his heavy breathing (that means he’s happy) as soon as I walked in the door and then I knelt down and he came right to me. I was almost crying.

Breastfeeding is coming to a close. I slowed down pumping at work after W was 6 months in November and now I don’t pump at all. I’d been hoping to keep up nursing at night and in the morning, but I can tell my supply is dropping. Plus W is not interested in nursing so much anymore. He’d much rather look around and see who could be in the room. I’ve had to tell M to stop talking sometimes because W loves to look at him.

W’s been eating all sorts of food. Avocado, bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears, carrots. The poop colors have been amazing. I’ve been making his baby food. I never thought I’d be the type to do this, but it’s cheaper and so frickin easy. Even for a lazy bum like me.

I am over the moon excited about Christmas. We took W to see Santa and I thought my heart would explode. He was wonderful and gazed at Santa during the pictures. I loved watching the kids in line – they were talking about what they’d say to Santa and they got to put their letters in a mailbox that had gusts of “snow” blow out when they opened it. It was magical. I can’t wait for W to start understanding the season.




AKD at Little Footprints had a wonderful giveaway and I won (I’m pretty awesome). I feel like I know her in real life, so this is extra special. Her prize was to donate to the March of Dimes in honor of an angel. I’m so proud that my little boy will have this done in his name. Thank you, AKD, for being so generous. You light up my days when you post and your daughter is a beauty!

Nursery Pictures

Here are a few pictures of our little nursery. It is a tiny room in the front of the house.

The cute crib and the froggie pictures. I kept a calendar from 2007 to use in the baby's room. I think it looks so good!

34 weeks is in blue pants, which make my butt look ginormous. Black pants ( at 36 weeks) truely are slimming!

My socks came from somewhere in the midwest from someone whose name I can't remember! I'm such a jerk! I got rid of the shipping information before I could write down my person! You know, it's kind of a shame to hide feet like that with socks. But I love socks.

Now, I got two pairs of socks. They are perfect. I do not wear plain socks, even when I am trying to be professional. These can go into my daily rotation.

So, which do I like better? The green fancy ones?

Or the yellow duckies?

Or how about both!

So, how has the blogging community supported me over the past year? Can I even put that into words? I had the darkest time of my life this past summer... if I didn't have this place, I'm not sure I would be in one of the brightest times right now. I was able to see that my feelings were normal, I wasn't alone and others had survived the sadness of losing a pregnancy and gone on to have babies. My friends here held me up and carried me through the scary first weeks with this pregnancy. Now I'm trying to send those positive vibes to others who are just starting to get out of the dark days.

Everything is still going wonderful over here. I've officially been kicked during my dreams. We are picking up the nursery furniture on Saturday. I've been invited to my baby shower! Wow.

Anatomy Scan!

The baby is wonderful!

I was so nervous. M woke up to me crying this morning and we were almost silent while we got ready for the appointment. We didn't talk about our afternoon plans. We didn't talk about what would happen today at all.

I love being the first appointment of the day. We got in quickly and I was covered in goo within a few minutes of getting there. The first thing we saw was the great (4-chambered!) heart with a heart rate of 148. Everything we needed to see was there. The baby was moving it's hands and feet all over the place. The tech couldn't get pictures of one hand because it was behind the baby's head. M has the "tough" picture with the baby looking right at the camera with the hand behind the head giving everyone the finger.

During the measurements, the baby flipped from face up to face down. When the doctor came in to do a final look, the baby had flipped so the profile was in the other direction. We've got an active one! We were told to look away when she checked the gender. I didn't see any of the girl parts or boy parts that people usually have in those pictures and they never said he or she. I'm very happy about that!

We do have a small spot on the baby's heart. This is one of the markers for Downs Syndrome, but with all my other tests, the risk is still 1/5000. I'm not even going to worry about that.

Just a few pictures

We took some pictures tonight and I thought I'd share.

First, here is my Christmas Tree. It's a little blurry, but I love it anyway (because it's not blurry in real life).

Next, the Christmas Tree skirt. I started this in spring 2004. That was before I was engaged. I finished it monday night. So, for the first time in 5 long years, we have an official skirt around our tree.

And the big one - my 18 week belly. It's kind of there. I know you can see it!

I had M take a lot of pictures. This is the only one where it looks like I have a baby bump and not just some extra pudge. Unfortunately, I'm leaning back so you can't really appreciate my ample bosom. Sorry about that. I know you're all fascinated with boob size, but I can't please everyone.
