32 Weeks!

Special thanks to all those who shared their BFing experiences and advice and fears. I feel better!

Here is my 32 week update. 8 weeks to go... holy crap.

The good: M has been feeling the baby regularly. He talks to the baby and all that great stuff. My big shower is this weekend! My new crib is being delivered this afternoon!

The bad: I am getting more and more uncomfortable every day. I am also getting angrier at the people around me (this might not be a bad thing)

The ugly: I am preparing for a child by spitting up a few times a day. Really. Out of nowhere. I don’t even get a burpy feeling, I just burp out a bunch of water. I have yet to make a mess or anything, but it’s still gross (read: I throw up in my mouth). I’m sure this is related to my fantastic heartburn and acid reflux problem, but the spitting up doesn’t hurt at all. It just gives me bad breath.

Normal life: I had a dentist appointment this morning. The hygienist talked to me about nursing the whole time. Does she read my blog? I have fluoride breath right now and it is gross.

{Drama Removed}

Pediatrician: I have one! I had a meet and great yesterday afternoon. He is a jolly man in a bugs bunny tie. He talked to me for about 40 minutes and made sure all my questions are answered. I didn’t see eye-to-eye with him on all the vaccine stuff, but he said several parents are on the schedule that I am interested in (Dr Sears). Why am I interested in the alternative vaccine schedule? My mom said she liked it better. I’m currently reading (skimming) the book and I agree with it. That doesn’t mean any other approach is wrong.

Holy crap, Cheryl! 32 weeks!!!! I love reading your good, bad and ugly every week. I might just steal it, lol. I'm excited to hear about your big shower and see some pictures of the nursery and your belly hopefully.

PS. I <3 you, too!

I too am looking at the alternative shot schedule as per my post yesterday. Also, don't let them give your baby the hep C in the hospital as it has just been linked to brain damage....unless of course it is necessary.

I tried to make a meet and greet appointment yesterday and they said they don't usually "do that." HUH? why not? You mean parents don't shop around for pediatricians?

Happy 32nd week!

I hope you get that cubicle away from people!!

I share your "ugly". It started yesterday out of nowhere. Totally grosss!!

I'm glad you're planning to say something about your coworker. He is seriously F-ed in the head and you don't need that crap on a daily basis!

WOW. You are getting so close! (As if you needed that info from me ;p)

I hope the new cubicle/co-worker thing works out. That drama has gone on for long enough.

Glad you found a pediatrician. We're currently looking for one as well...it is quite the chore. We're also interested in the delayed/separated vaccines but it's still pretty uncommon here. Boo. No one really 'agrees' with us, most especially the peds office. How did you approach your doc about it??

And I sincerly hope that the 'ugly' passes me by. Yuck.

Kelli, I didn't exactly have to bring it up. I asked them if they had a vaccine schedule and then he kind of went on a tangent from there. In it, he talked about mercury and then went onto how parents have alternate schedules. I didn't say what I wanted to do, but he did say that he has lots of parents with alternative schedules and parents who decide to skip certain shots. So he'll do it and that's what matters to me.

Oh, Cheryl, what good things! I'm so glad the crib is coming, and that you and M are sharing Baby!

I hope that the move will make things easier for you. The last thing you need while you're feeling icky is to worry about someone's feelings being hurt by every tiny thing you say/do. It's just not worth it.
