21 Weeks!

Is this a milestone where the baby can start drinking? That would be nice (and timely) for tomorrow!

Ah, alas… I will not drink tomorrow. My 2nd NYE without the booze.

Anyway, back to 21 weeks!

The Good: movement, movement, movement, maternity clothes.

The Bad: Dropping Sh!t. I was bad at dropping stuff before. Now I’m awful. We made breakfast for the inlaws on Saturday and I dropped a piece of cheese of the ground. My brother in law was right there, so I gave it to him to throw away. I looked up ten seconds later and caught his eye. He was eating it.

I broke the scale this morning! M told me I must be getting really fat now! I lost my balance when I stepped on it and cracked the window. M does not think this is funny.

The Ugly: That wasteland between my boobs is gross. I am a “blessed” girl in that area and, since September, I’ve become more blessed. I need to get new bras. I KNOW it. Right now, my chest is crammed into an old bra and I itch like mad. This happened before. I have zits in between my boobs, so I decided to put some medicine on it (benzyl peroxide only). The medicine is fine on my face, but apparently gives me a gross rash when used elsewhere. Gross. GROSS. All red and itchy. And to make it worse, I keep dropping saltines down there and they make the itching worse. I want to go to the fancy store to get fitted by the fancy people and find good maternity bras that will last. But I’m afraid to go there with my zits and rash. I’ll wait for the rash to clear up and then re-evaluate.

The Question: I’m headed to the bookstore to use some gift cards this weekend. We’re going to get a baby name book. I also want to get The Happiest Baby on the Block. Any other recommendations for a not-to-crunchy future mom? Maybe a book about birth that will make me feel good about my decision to go drug free until I feel the tiniest bit uncomfortable (just so I can say I tried?).

The Update: A coworker just asked me if I'm pregnant! I thought everyone knew, but he wasn't here the day I told everybody. I'm so excited!

I don't mean to laugh at your difficulties, but I do have to tell you that your post cracked me up (especially the scale part.) :)

Cheese off the floor? Sure!

I am "blessed" in the chest area, too - I've been in my maternity bra for about a week or so now (since they exploded in size). It just is a lot stretchier than a normal bra. I found mine on sale at Gap.com in the maternity dept - I'm sure you can find some great ones locally, but it's worked well for me. I also sleep in a sports bra.

Happiest of new years! I'm so glad that things are going so great!

You should check out the book Your Best Birth by Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein. It explains all your birthing options and pros and cons to them. =)

Maybe try some of that G.old Bo.nd powder between your ta-ta's?

Everytime I drop something I sigh loudly. With Urban Myth often laying sideways & ultra-low, it's a friggin' ordeal to pick up anything I drop. I worry that I am going to tear her into two pieces every time I have to twist to do so. Grrr.

LOL. I have the same exact problems!!

My boobs are so big that everytime I go to push up my sleeve I wind up punching myself in the boob!!

Your "ugly" section had me lol-ing! Alas, even with my recent growth my girls will never be in close quarters so I guess this is one time I should (maybe) feel lucky(?). :)
